2020: The STRANGEST Year

Most will bemoan that 2020 was the worst year ever. Not because technocratic lunatics took us one step closer to a globalist, dystopian nightmare world, but because they were slightly inconvenienced by having to work from home in their sweatpants. GOOD CITIZENS, after all, never complain about government overreach (unless it’s Orange Man’s doing.)

Anyway, 2020 was a great year for Strangeville. One of our best, in fact. Since Strangeville lives outside the megacity lunacy and technocratic censorship bubble, we pretty much just do whatever the fuck we want, whenever the fuck we want. And a nearly harmless virus exaggerated into an extinction-level event didn’t slow us down in the slightest.

In 2020 I completed work on my very first Strangeville game. A Magic The Gathering knock-off dumbed down and streamlined with the hardcore stoner in mind. Strangeville Smoke Weed: The Card Game is one of the coolest things I’ve EVER produced, and in a career as prolific as mine, that’s saying something.

We delayed its release from March to September/October to avoid the lock-downs and possible economic collapse caused by our insane overlords. This gave me plenty of time to start work on my most ambitious project to date. A 150 page, full color graphic novel sequel to my 2009 film COCKHAMMER. Written, penciled, lettered, inked and colored by yours truly.

I finished work on COCKHAMMER LIVES! the graphic novel right around the time we launched the SVSW IndieGoGo. We smashed our goals, threw in some cool-ass stretch-goal extras and got them shits right out the door just as I was dotting the Is and crossing the Ts on COCKHAMMER LIVES, leaving me a tiny window to throw together a FREE Christmas comic.

While COCKHAMMER LIVES! was cooling off, preparing for a March 2021 crowdfunder, I started live-streaming my work on ROCCO AND SASPARILLA’S SICKMASTIME STORY, a 30 page, black and white one-shot comic that I planned to finish and release before Christmas.

Once again, I wrote, penciled, lettered and inked the comic, doing daily streams showing the entire process from thumbnails, to rough pencils, to inks, lettering and finishes. We finished that sucker on time, too and sent out a PDF a few days before Christmas. I even printed up a butt-load of them to take to conventions and use as promotional material.

Conventions? That’s right. When the powers-that-be rip the keys out of Orange Man’s hands and the entire populous is force-injected with poison and god-knows-what, hopefully they’ll loosen the shackles and allow for us mere peasants to roam semi-free in the pastures of our country again. At which time Strangeville is going to hit the convention circuit bigger and harder than EVER before.

2021 (technolords willing) will see one of our biggest tours ever. This time with all the Hack Movies on DVD, all the Strange Fiction in Hardcover, paperback and chapbook format. Strangeville Smoke Weed: The Card Game, and a slew of graphic novels and mini promo comics.

Or we’ll all cower in our hovels and watch Netflix while the government pays us scraps of our own taxes again. Either way, see ya next year, gang! STAY STRANGE!

FREE Strangeville X-Mas Comic!

Gang, in a year like this, with our technocratic overlords holding a vice grip around our collective throats with their ceaseless lockdowns and nonsensical mandates, we NEED some levity!

With that in mind, I’ve spent the entire month of December crafting a ludicrous new 30 page, black and white one-shot comic book called ROCCO AND SASPARILLA’S SICKMASTIME STORY and it’s yours absolutely free as a thank you for all of your support through the years.

This twisted tale follows the psychotic weed witch Sasparilla as she once again tries to thwart Santa from delivering Christmas. This time, she’s kidnapped ole Saint Nick, slaughtered all of the elves on Christmas World and sends her mental minion Rocco back to the Earthly realm to steal Santa’s magical Christmas bag. But that old pervert Santa still has a few tricks up his sleeve…

Need some more flavor beyond that? Well, I happened to livestream the entire comic making process over on my Facebook page and you can watch them shits all the way from the very first pencil page on through the very last inked page. Nearly 20 straight days of comic creation! Call me the pervert Bob Ross, bitch!

STILL not feeling the holly-jollies? How about watching the first appearance of ole Sasparilla in my 2010 feature-length film NIXON AND HOGAN SMOKE CHRISTMAS for free on Youtube??

C’mon! This is getting ridiculous! If that didn’t cheer you up, what will?? How about the second time Santa and Sasparilla had a little tussle? I’m talking about my bizarro novella THE WITCH WHO FUCKED CHRISTMAS! Read that FOR FREE right here: THE WITCH WHO FUCKED CHRISTMAS NOVELLA

That’s all I got for you this time around. If all that demented, perverted holiday freshness can’t cheer your ass up, nothin’ will!

Merry Christmas, gang. And don’t let the Man get you down this holiday season. Look on the bright side: We’re pretty much living in a cool techno-dystopian future. We’ll be Blade-running and slip-streaming and cyber-punking our way to rebellion any day now!
